Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having a lot of rectal bleeding for the last year! It lasts for 2 or more weeks and has been longer than that lately! I had my second colonoscopy in November and I was told I had hemmoroids but nothing drastic! I have 5-7 bowel movements a day and sometimes bleed through my clothes!
You need to get a biopsy done after colonoscopy. Since bleeding is the common manifestation of the malignancy ask your doctor to rule that out.
If there are hemorrhoids which can be operated and removed please get it done rather than bleeding for a long time might lead to anemia and many more complication can happen in the body if it is malignant.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
