Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Rectal Bleeding, Painful Defecation And Gas?
Hi I have for 2 days rectal discharge and muscas present in stools . I do have haemarroids present. Bowel movements normal no bleeding. Abdomen soft but tender feels like muscular pain but sensation in colon of wind and gurgling. This morning when passing wind large amount of discharge on underwear and strong smell.
Good morning I am sorry to hear about your ill health The symptom of rectal discharge, mucus in the stools indicates inflammation in your rectum. Since this happened only recently with out previous episodes, I strongly suspect some infectious cause. This happens in certain infections which can range from food borne infections to sexually transmitted diseases. All we need to know is what is the cause. A biopsy from rectum, culture from the discharge will help in reaching the diagnosis. At the same time your hemorrhoids need to be checked and treated as well. Depending on further progress the doctor will decide about need for colonoscopy in future. I hope this can answer your question and i would be happy to answer your future questions Wish you a speedy recovery
