What Causes Rectal Bleeding After Taking Doxycycline And Prednisone?

I have been precribed doxycycline & prednisone (6 days only 20mg 1st day 40mg for 4 days and last day 20mg) for asthma/pneumonia systems . it is day 5 my asthma/pneumonia symtpms have greatly improved (note-I am not an asthma sufferer) I have started to have rectal bleeding when my bowels open, it this something of concern ( I have only 1 x 20mg dose of prednisone to take tommorrow, should I still take it. ( my doctor is away for the next 4 days) Any advice would be appreciated. Annie

Hello, you can take prednisolone . I would suggest a fibre supplement lile psyllium husk for your PR bleed. And visit your doctor as soon as possible to get a rectal examination to find the cause of the bleeding
