Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a rash that is covering both arms, my neck and moving up to my ears and scalp. A small patch has appeared on my torso. I have had shingles before, but have since been inoculated and assume that since this is showing on both sides, that this is not shingles.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of rashes on the arms and neck which seems to be impetigo , psoriasis, side effects of certain medicine, allergic reaction and could be improper hygiene. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to rashes to reduce redness and inflammation , take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl and avoid food like nuts and seafood. Avoid exposure to sunlight and cover area with damp cloth. You should avoid touching or pricking rashes. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with corticosteroid ointment , antibacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
