What Causes Rashes And Dry Patches After Having Tattooed?

Hi i had my tattoo done about 3 weeks ago, I ve kept it very clean and alplying bepanthen on it daily, but recently a small rash like thing has appeared around and inside my tattoo. The rash/bumps went away, then it became dry patches of skin, then goes red some days and is more less red other days, from time to time it s itchy but it s not sore to touch just rough. Any idea what s happening?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems like allergic reaction to the chemicals used in making the tattoo as well as inflammation due to injury to the skin caused by the instrument tip used for making the tattoo..
As there is formation of rash as well as itching, they are classical signs of allergic reaction and you should consult an Allergist and get evaluated..
He can advise you to take anti-allergic medicines like Levocetrizine or fexofenadine [allegra] and keep applying steroid ointment over the rashes..
Do cold compresses over the rashes and the tattoo site..
Maintain a good hygiene and avoid scratching the rashes if they itch to prevent infection..
