Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 47 year old female with fairly regular periods. Lately I have noticed some symptoms of perimeopause such as hot flashes but nothing too troubling. For two consecutive years however I have had really bad outbreaks of hives which start in a small area and spread over my entire body. In some places wheals or blisters even form before it becomes widespread. This past time it started on my left breast and now it is covering about 75% of my body. I just realized the outbreaks correlate with the ending of my period. The itching and blistering are driving me insane. Antihistamines give temporary relief. Doctors have put me on prednisone which also helps but sometimes the rash comes flaring back after a 10 day course and the prednisone wreaks havoc on my body. I am at a loss...I know this is not an allergy to anything - I have never had any allergies.
Hello there. Your blood pressure is very low. It is very important to check one s blood pressure with a manual sphygmomanometer as electronic BP machines sometimes give wrong reading s. But if your BP is indeed low then you should stop taking Metropolol for time being as it will further lower it.Keep a track of your Blood pressure. If you feel any dizziness or headache get yourself admitted for proper evaluation and treatment. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write.
