What Causes Rapid Weight Loss And Bruising In Body?

what could be the reason for rapid weight loss and bruising in weird places? My son s grandmother is only 60 and her husband won t consult a physician. they years of weird dieting (no salt for years and dietary supplements, I am not sure what), they both got sick and started putting salt back in their diet because they started getting sick and not being able to move. Gained a lot of weight as a result. but now she has trouble walking a lot and as I mentioned the rapid weight loss and bruising.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

With history of bruising and weight loss, she may need a complete blood count.
This would take a look at different factors including the hemoglobin, platelet count and white cell count.

A low platelet can sometimes cause bruising.

Other serious underlying conditions would also need to be ruled out by additional tests.

I hope this helps
