What Causes Rapid Weight Gain Inspite Of Exercises?

I am 38 year old Female. Healthy. Physically active - walking, running, road biking, mountain biking, skiing, hot yoga - all regularly. I make sure I get a good, sweaty dose of cardio 3-4 times every week. Problem is: no matter how well I eat (real food, not processed crap, rarely take-out) or how physically active I am, I gain weight. I have gained 20lbs in past 2 years.

Hi,

There are several causes which can cause weight gain inspite of regular exercises and physical activity.
They are :-
Diabetes mellitus,
Thyroid disorders,
Hormonal imbalance(Endocrinological disorders),
Genetic/Familial(absence of brown fat)etc

I would like to advise you to get your blood tests done which includes
Complete blood count,
Thyroid profile test,
Sr.prolactin,Cortisol levels.

I would also like to advise you to get your adrenals checked with an ultrasound and CECT of the abdomen.

You can visit a dietician to calculate your daily calorie intake and prepare a diet chart accordingly.
Consult your physician with all these reports.
Take care
