What Causes Rapid Heart Rate, fast Breathing And Cold Feet?

Hi, I am 25 years old female. I had a sudden rapid heart beating followed by rapid breath taking and then my feet get cold. I have also headache and a bit nausea. I went to the hospital few days ago and they check me and says the lung function and ECG result are normal. The USG on the stomach also fine. The only thing they found is that I have low iron concentration in my blood (but not too low they said) and they give me iron pills. At first 4 days I am getting better but then I felt the first symptom again. Could you give me some explanation about my condition? And what should I do to prevent it occurs again? Thank you.

Hi,

You have likely had an episode of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT). It presents with an episodic sudden increase in heartbeat and symptoms like rapid breathing, nausea or a headache.

The only way to diagnose PSVT is by a continuous heart monitoring of the heart rhythm. Definitive diagnosis is done by electrophysiologic studies of the heart.

Consult with your doctor about continuous heart rhythm monitoring. Please note a condition called panic attack may also present with similar symptoms and these conditions are usually confusing.

They may also be associated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
