What Causes Rapid Heart Rate With Chest Thumping?

I am 48 yrs. old and weigh 126.Had hysterectomy at age 40. Take 1 mg. of estrace. Have been on thyroid med. for about 18 yrs.Also take high blood pressure med. Blood work all comes back good. Heart feels like it's beating to fast but when take pulse is ok. Sometimes feels like a big thump or two in my chest and makes me cough then goes away.

I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you are mostly having stress and anxiety related symptoms.
But since you are hypertensive, we should first rule out heart related diseases for your chest symptoms.
So get done ecg and 2d echo first.
If both of them are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases.
At your age of 48 years (perimenopausal), stress and anxiety are likely two develop due to hormonal imbalance.
So consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on it's solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Don't worry, you will be alright but first rule out heart diseases.
