What Causes Rapid Heart Rate And Pulsations In Neck?
I am 24 years old and i am overweight and have high blood pressure. Just in the last 4 days i have noticed my heartbeating a little bit faster than normal. I actually looked in the mirror and had seen a pulse in my neck. I am a little bit worried and had thought about going to the er but it takes forever in there. could there be something wrong?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
After going through the medical details provided by you I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that obese people can have a high blood pressure in young age but raised JVP ( pulsation in neck ) can be indicating serious heart disease and need a proper evaluation. Kindly get an ECG and Echocardiography done to evaluate for Ventricular hypertrophy or Aortic regurgitation and consult a Cardiologist personally for physical evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
