What Causes Rapid Heart Rate After Stopping Lexapro?

I stopped taking lexapro about a month ago and most of the side effects are gone (zaps etc.). I had a couple panic attacks when i was weaning off the medication. Today my heart has been racing a bit. Could it still be the weaning? Also, my period started today. Could that be it? I am 44. I had an EKG and a heart Echo done recently and they were fine.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms do not seem to be related to any heart disorder.

A little anxiety can trigger this clinical scenario.

Besides, the fact that your period started today and you are bleeding, can contribute in all this clinical scenario.

But, there is nothing to worry about!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
