What Causes Random Spurts Of Vaginal Bleeding?

I m having random spurts of vaginal bleeding and not on my period. My period was lat week. It s been like this for three days now. It ll be fine and then all of a sudden there will be a heavy spurt- then nothing again. I ve just started having some sexual activity which may or may not be related.. No sex but fingering and whatnot, excitement.

Dysfunctional uterine bleeding occurs most commonly at the beginning and end of the reproductive years: 20% of cases occur in adolescent girls, and more than 50% occur in women older than 45.
Bleeding may differ from typical menstrual periods in the following ways:

Occur frequently and irregularly between periods.
