Hi Dr, I have a raised red bump on inner thigh, about 3 inches from vagina. It is round and dome shaped. It goes from light pink to deep red colour depending on the heat during the day. It is smooth and shiny and doesn t itch or hurt. It doesn t have a head and doesn t bleed. It has been there unchanged for about 2/3 months. I have no other bumps just the one. What could it be? I was wondering if it is a dermatofibroma but it doesn t dimple when squeezed? Thanking you in advance.
The lesion you described would be some growth. If it is hard, it might be most probably keloid of unknown origin. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis.
In keloid, I generally prefer to give intralesional steroid 10 mg fortnightly till it subsides. Silicone gel like hexilak silicon gel may be applied. Vitamin E and C, pentoxyphylline 400 mg thrice a day would be helpful.
Have patience for the good result. Never go for surgery, as it might flare up.
I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
