What Causes Radiating Pain In Leg Along With Swollen Ankle Post Injury?

I fell over 4th of July weekend. Messed my ankle up pretty bad. Lately I've been having radiating pain up my left leg and hurts a lot to touch anywhere on my leg. My left foot and ankle is still very swollen no matter what I do. Is this something I should seek immediate attention for?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be best to seek medical attention because the discomfort and swelling should not last this long period of time.

It is possible that one or more of the ligaments in the ankle were affected by your fall.

Your doctor will likely suggest imaging of the ankle joint and foot.

Depending on the extent of the injury you may or may not need to see an orthopedic doctor.

I hope this helps
