What Causes Pustules In My Throat Where Tonsils Were?

I have had a problem for over a year now with pustuals in my throat where my tonsils were. Amoxicillin did not help. nor did goggling salt water or mouthwash. I was told it MIGHT be tonsil stones ..BUT my symptome are as follows--Sore throat with pain swallowing. When I talk or raise my voice I start coughing. My voice is affected and sometime it is hard to swallow. I saw an ENT and he said it was just an infection at which time I was put on the Amoxicillin. Which did not get rid of the problem. any Ideas as to what to do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms can be related to tonsil stones.

Tonsil stones can cause recurrent tonsil infections.

I suggest using a anti inflammatory spray for local application at the throat.

I also suggest to continue the antibiotic given by your doctor and use anti inflammatory medications to relieve the symptoms.

I suggest to drink liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
