What Causes Puss Discharge From A Boil After Its Removal?
yesterday i got a severe boil removed from my right buttocks and did not have the funds to purchase the boil cream the doctor prescribed. i woke up this morning to remove the gauze he had put on the open cut he made in order to remove the puss, and now more puss is coming out. is that normal? what can i do?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain an aggressive boil is a clear cut indication that there was an infection and it has led to pus formation.. As an Incision or cut is made so that the pus can be drained off and if complete drainage is not done by the surgeon, in that case there will be continuous draining of pus..
Secondly as an open wound become a potent source for flourishing and growth of infectious micro-organisms therefore proper antibiotic coverage is a must both oral as well as topical application..
Therefore I would suggest you to consult your treating physician again and get evaluated and he can advise you oral antibiotics like Sulphamethoxazole and Trimethoprim combination and topical antibiotic ointment.. Clean the area with betadine solution and put gentle pressure to drain off pus..
Hope this information helps..
