What Causes Pus In Urine?

My Dad has stage 4 lung cancer and 3 tumors in his brain. Among the other problems, he is having trouble urinating. He is incontinent but will still try to use a small portable urinal. We are finding pus in the small amount or urine. Could this be that cancer is in the bladder/prostrate area? or Could he have a bladder infection/UTI?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Usually, colon cancer does not spread to the bladder unless it is very aggressive and infiltrative to surrounding areas.

However, rather than taking chances, I do recommend to get evaluated with infection panel as urine culture as well as CT scan of the abdomen & pelvis for the best reason finding and cure accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
