What Causes Pus Filled Blisters On The Tonsils?

Hi doctor,
I have a bunch of little white pus pockets covering my tonsils. I have no pain at all. I have a little phlem in my throat that has been going on for a looong time. But the pus pockets are new. I have no other symptoms of strep, a cold, or tonsilitis. I'm not sure what to do. Could it be an STD?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain pus pockets over the tonsils are a sign of infection in throat and tonsils leading to tonsillitis..
In case if you do not have any other symptoms like sore throat, cold etc there is a possibility that the white spots are not pus pockets but tonsil stones that are calcified masses formed due to calcification of food particles and debris that gets deposited over the tonsils..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation and in case if it is pus pockets he can advise you to take antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller, and do warm saline gargles..
In case if it is tonsil stones he can remove them manually and can advise you to gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water..
Gargle with warm saline water and always gargle after meals..
You can be advised to limit the intake of dairy as it is high in calcium and will cause more formation of stones..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
