What Causes Purple Discoloration Of Legs And Hands?
I was recently at a friend s home, and she had a female guest who had fallen. She is 76 years old. Her hands and legs were purple. Blood was seeping through the bandages on her leg. Her husband is a doctor, and he said her blood tests were normal. What in the world would cause such thin skin like that?

Hi.
As per your case history my advice is-
1. The purplish skin on hands and legs may be senile purpura- age related change.
2. Advice her not to wear tight foot-wear and avoid any trauma.
3. She can take tab.Vitamin C 500mg daily once.
No Need to worry, its a physiological thing not any disease.
