What causes pulsating sensation in knee cap and suggest treatment?

I have a pulsating sensation in my knee cap. It has been bothering me for weeks. It doesn t hurt but it is terribly uncomfortable and distracting. The pulsating makes it very difficult for me to fall asleep and concentrate on other tasks, especially at night. How do I make this go away?!!!!

Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of local inflammation. For this reason, I recommend checking inflammation tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR) and performing a Doppler ultrasound of the leg vessels.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

My knee occasionally gives way under stress and causes intense pain. It gives way inwardly. It hurts to straighten it out, the quicker it straightens the more it hurts. The pain is just below the knee cap. There is no ligament or tendon damage according to doctors.

I ve recently been walking alot to lose weight, roughly 45 to 60 minutes a day. My problem is that I have developed knee pain in the lower knee cap area, behind the patella causing flexion pain when I rise from a sitting position. What can I do to relieve the pain. Thank you. Cliff
