What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding?

I just got off my period a couple of days ago and my vagina noramlly aways cleans it self out the day after i have slight cramps and a bloody discharge just for the day and then everything is fine, but this time it has lasted alot longer then normal? Whats going on??

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Since you have not specified how many days more the bleeding lasted, it is difficult to say what it could be due to.
If your bleeding is prolonged for a couple of days more, then there is absolutely no need to worry. You can relax and watch for a couple of cycles more as to weather it is within 5 days.
Otherwise, if the bleeding seems heavy and lasts for more than 10 days, you need to get evaluated by Gynecologist for 'dysfunctional uterine bleeding' (DUB).
Sometimes iron deficiency or taking analgesic tablets can cause bleeding beyond time.
