General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern.
increased bleeding and painful bleeding(dysmenorrhea) are the expected side effects of copper t.
this results in removal of the copper t in approximately 10 to 15 % of the insertions.
i would suggest you to wait for a couple of months, use dicynone as per the need. dicynone contains etamsylate which is used to reduce bleeding.
if the problem persists even after a couple of months i would suggest consulting your gynecologist and getting the copper t removed.
other methods like condom would be required to follow.
a re insertion can be planned once the problem subsides.
hope i have answered your concerns.
feel free to ask further queries.
thanks for choosing HCM
