What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding Despite Taking Provera?
I m 25 years old and I ve been on my period since July 10th and I haven t stopped bleeding I went to the doctor and they provide me provera for 10 days 10 milligrams but that didn t work that didn t stop it either I was still getting spotting and after the 10 days were over my regular period started again and it still hasn t stopped and now I have been on birth control pills for the past 3 and the first day I took 3 pills because that s what the doctor recommended and he told me the second day take 2 pills and from 3rd day on take one a day. And I m still concerned because I m still bleeding heavy
Hi, I think you should take a high dose of hormones like progesterone or may be a combination of estrogen and progesterone. Also take some haemostatic injections like Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Discuss with your doctor. If bleeding doesn't stop on these also, do a ultrasound. You may need a therapeutic curettage to stop it. Also get a thyroid profile and prolactin levels done. Hope I have answered your question. Regards Dr khushboo
