What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding After Child Birth?

hi, i am 41 and just had my 4th child after a very large gap. my other kids are 21,20 and 17. i havent really stoped bleading since i had her and it is very very heavy expecially after intercourse. my youngest was born 13 weeks ago. i also have a lump near the opening of my virgina. please help

Hello,
Firstly, you need an immediate clinical evaluation by an expert to see where you are bleeding from and what the lump is. The fact that the bleeding is increased with intercourse suggests that it could be due to some local cause like polyp or erosion. This can be diagnosed through a speculum examination. Also, perineal trauma during childbirth which has not healed can cause such bleeding, but, in this event, you would usually have pain. Retained products and failed involution are other possible causes. Please check coagulation profile also. Take care.
