What Causes Prolonged Stomach Discomfort?

I have been having stomach irritation for about a week. The main area is about an inch above my belly button. My stomach feels twisted. I have BM s everyday but I have noticed some times they are very narrow. I feel a burp start to work it s way up - but I can t burp. My stomach is grumbling a lot. I have been under a lot of stress.
