What Causes Prolonged Illness And Swelling Of Glands?
My daughter was ill about 2 1/2 months ago with mono like symptoms. She is only 5. Her test came back that she had been exposed to the epstein barr recently but she did not have an active case on mono. When this first started i noticed her glands were inlarged. To this day..they still are. They do not bother her at all and her doctor doesnt really seem to think anything of it. I made her an appointment with an ent to be sure. Am i over reacting? Do glands stay swollen that long for no reason?

Only swollen glands is incomplete information. Size ,number and location matters.Lymph nodes of more than 1 inch diameter are significant and need excitional biopsy to diagnose cause of it.If less than that then we search for focus,treat the focus and then wait and watch.It might be the case with you.That's why your doctor is not saying anything
