What Causes Prolonged Bleeding After A Medical Abortion?

I went through with a medical abortion on June 5, 2015 and it is now August 1st and I am still bleeding . I only had cramps the first couple of days and I haven t been in any type of pain ever since . I called the place where I went to get the abortion because it was one day I just started bleeding like crazy . And it was only slight pains . They told me that it s normal and it means my period is about to start but that was like a month ago . I ve gone through with this procedure 2 times before and I only bled for a month . After I had the abortions, I stopped taking my birth control pills after a month but this time I m keeping up with my pills . I don t know if it s because of that but it s bad enough I hate having my period and now I ve dealt with this for 2 months and I just want to stop bleeding . And it s not even like I m bleeding heavy ,nits just spotting . What should I do ?

Heavy bleeding is the most common problem after an abortion. It is usually caused by pieces of the pregnancy that are left in the womb. The womb cannot squeeze itself shut and keeps bleeding. This is called an incomplete abortion. If the pieces are removed, often the bleeding will stop. Sometimes the bleeding is caused by a torn cervix which must be stitched for the bleeding to stop.
A woman is bleeding too much if she soaks more than 2 heavy pads or cloths in one hour for 2 hours in a row. A slow, steady trickle of bright red blood is also dangerous. When this happens, a woman may quickly lose a dangerous amount of blood. If it is not possible to get medical help immediately, try to stop the bleeding.
so you have to consult your doctor and examination for any particles may be remained and better to remove particles as early as possible, if not there is possibility of infection and other pelvic inflammatory disorders may be occur.
