What Causes Pressure In The Left Hand After A Fasciotomy?

I had a left hand fasciotomy 8x days ago and I have been in a lot of discomfort since with quite a lot of blood seepage through my bandage and around the plaster cast. Last night I felt a build up in pressure under the cast and then after about 30 minutes it seemed to pop and since then I have had more severe seepage but not just blood. Could this be due to heat blisters as it has been quite warm and humid?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Warm welcome to Health care magic family .
I have gone through your concern in depth .

@ Pressure is due to
- compression effect of plaster cast
- exudate material from the wound (which are kept open after incision )
- irritation of the underlying nerve endings
- more dependent position of the limb giving more exertion over
peripheral return of the venous blood

Hope this clears your query .
Feel free to ask any further questions .
Thanks for evaluating my answer .
Regards .
