General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for using HealthcareMagic

You may want to consider taking a decongestant. Pain in the ear when experiencing an upper respiratory tract infection is sometimes due to congestion of a tube in the ear (called Eustachian tube) or congestion of the sinuses.
A decongestant such as Sudafed or Benadryl D(contains anti histamine and decongestant)- would be helpful.
Other antihistamine decongestant combinations are Zyrtec d, Allegra d, Claritine d

I hope this helps
