What Causes Pressure In The Eyes Upon Blowing The Nose?

I have a bad cold. While blowing my nose yesterday, I felt like I was going to blow out my right eye! Air was being blown into my eye from what seemed to be my tear duct. It is continuing to happen. Who should I see about this or is it nothing to worry about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,my name is dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
Your symtoms seem to be related to sinusitis.
One of the major causes of sinusitis are viral infection of the upper respiratory system.
Some advices that I can give to you are:
-use a humidifier at home
-use nasal saline sprays
-Decongestants .These meds lower the amount of mucus in the sinuses. Some are available as nasal sprays.Others are pills.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other question Ill be glad to help.
Regards,
dr.Dorina Gurabardhi
