What Causes Pressure In The Eardrum?

Hi, I think I have calcified ear wax in my ear and last friday a Medical Assistant at my Drs office may have accidentally pushed further into my ear. Since then it feels like it s pushing on my ear drum. The dr referred me to an Otolarylgologist, but the soonest appt. he has is next Tuesday. Should I go to an ER instead, is there any danger in waiting? It s quite painful.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

You are having history of foreign body substance insertion into ear drum...

Pain is also associated here...

So I don't think you should wait for otorhinolaryngologist appointment..

Consult nearby er for look for Otoscopy examination and to rule out ear drum injury or perforation by foreign substance

You will be prescribed ibuprofen like anti-inflammatory drug and antibiotic course for that initially..

Take care

Hope your concern solved
