What Causes Pressure And Tightness In The Throat After A Total Thyroidectomy?
I ve had a total thyroidectomy 3 and a half weeks ago, I seem to be feeling like pressure on my throat and sometimes feel as thou I can t swallow my food properly is this normal there is also getting to be some tightness as well. I ve told by my surgeon to wear a surgical tape over the scar for 3 months to help the scar to go flat I have taken this off tonight to give my neck some release

I really appreciate your concern, you can follow the advise given by surgeon if it is the soft tissue inflammation due to surgery then it will be there for some time but later or sooner it will be alright, till then be patience and it is the discomfort then no need to worry about this, in persistence discomfort or swallowing difficulty you can see the surgeon hope this information helps.
