What Causes Pressure And Pain In Throat?

Hi doc..
I have pressure/pain in my throat... I want to know the reason.. for this pressure. I am meditator.... is this because of non-expression. or any-other reason.. if so. is there any possibility to check my unconsciousness to check is there a suppression or blocks there.... through hypnotism..... pls advise.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

We have to rule out infective etiology here according to history. Posterior pharynx examination also should be done. If infection present than antibiotic course should be prescribed like Levofloxacin or cefixime for five days. If congestion present than levocetrizine can be prescribed. If still no relief than throat swab taken for culture. Check your CBC as well. Consult otorhinolaryngologist for examination.
