My wife suffers from post menopausal bleeding and is a breast cancer survivor of over 10 years. Her blood work says she is well beyond menopause but as I was reviewing her medical records I discovered that her estradiol level is 21 and desired is less than 20. She is taking anti depressants because she her cancer was HER 2 negative. I read the drug interaction and so forth and it says she could have female issues? She also has slightly high cholesterol and is taking metformin for sugar problems. Our doctor offers no solutions to the bleeding. She has had all the test for ovarian cancer and the list goes on. Could this be side effects of any of her medications?
Hi, I think she should go for a ultrasound and if endometrium is more than 4 mm 8n thickness, an endometrial biopsy should be done to rule out endometrial carcinoma. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. Hope I have answered your question. Regards Dr khushboo
