What Causes Positive Pregnancy Test Result After Taking Mifegest?
hi Dr my gf took a mifegest after 5 weeks of pregnancy her cycle and bleeding started in 2 days and continued fir 6 days however symptoms like puking and pain is persisting and the result is still positive ,does. It mean she is still pregnent ,and if she is then how bad are the effects of mifejest on the unborn?

Understand your concern
MTP should be done under the advice of gynecologist for safe and better practice. Pregnancy test will become negative after 7-10 days after using MTP pill. Note the causes of positive pregnancy test after abortion: perform pregnancy test very early, incomplete abortion, ectopic pregnancy , molar pregnancy, continuation of pregnancy in failed abortion.
So repeat the test after 5 days. If it is positive, you should consult the gynecologist and need USG scan of diagnose other cuuses.
Incomplete abortion is treated by misoprostol or surgical process. Ectopic pregnancy by surgery with fluid resuscitation ad blood transfusion.
Molar pregnancy by surgery and chemotherapy.
Mifegest can malformation of fetus so you can not continue the pregnancy in the failure case. It should be removed by surgical process like D & C or evacuation
