What Causes Positive Herpes IgG In Blood?

I am in my early 30s been with only one partner and have had no signs or symptoms of herpes. Had STD tests and all negative except HSV IGG 1,2 was 9.73 I have never had any signs and symptoms of herpes at all and was tested for hsv a year after any contact with anybody....so I have herpes?

Positive IgG for type 1&2 HSV does indicate that you carry the virus in your system. However, it is not clear whether it is type 1 or type 2.
Infection with herpes can be clinically silent i.e asymptomatic.
The infection is usually acquired by close /intimate contact (sexual or non-sexual) with an infected partner.
Though the chances of passing on the infection are more during active episodes of herpetic sores, herpes can also be passed on from infected partners on to new contacts during periods of clinical inactivity, therefore it is sometimes hard to know the source of infection if you have had other partners before.
However, if the current partner is the only one with whom you have ever been then likely you got the infection from this particular partner.
