What Causes Popping Sound And Hollow Breathing While Running?

I have noticed when running or moving my upper body, I start breathing more hollowly if that makes any sense. Only when running I also start to feel it in my ears and throat, like ear popping and/or sounds like I can hear my breathing from my left ear. Really hard to explain.
