What Causes Popping Sensation On Head After Lifting A Heavy Object?

Hi, I am a 30 year old male. Last night I was bending over and lifting up a heavy object when I felt a popping sensation in the left side of my head. Shortly after I got a throbbing sharp pain in the area I felt the pop, almost like a concentrated headache in that area. I slept on it and woke up to the same pain, and it doesn t seem to be going away.

Hello,

You may have strained a neck muscle while lifting the heavy object. I would recommend icing the side of your neck at this point if it's only been 24-48 hrs. since the event.

You will want to get an examination by a doctor to do a check of your neck muscles and cervical spine.

Something over the counter may be helpful for the pain, however, it would be best to let the doctor verify if he would like you to take something other than OTC preparations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
