What Causes Popping In Knuckles & Knee?

Hi. i m a 21 year old woman, 140ish and have to pop my knees literally every 5 secs (especially in laying in bed) and it seems to be getting worse. I also crack my neck constantly and pop my knuckles. Sometimes my knees will feel a bit warm after popping them for a while. They get stiff if i stand to long and when i drive they feel like they need to be popped as well. i don t excercise but i had started to for a while but it didn t help much. I m always tired and have no energy. i m just tired of it and would like to know your opinion. thanks.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to vitamin D deficiency or a rheumatological disorder. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:
- Vitamin D plasma levels
- Complete blood count, PCR, ESR
- ANA, ANCA titer antibodies
- ASO titer

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
