What Causes Pins And Needles Sensation In The Hand?

Good day My husband suffers with high blood pressure, it is being managed well, but a month ago, he experienced a weird sensation, pins and needles in his right hand all the way up to his mouth followed by a bad taste, upon arrival home he literally felt total exhaustion and slept for 4 hours, he has been feeling wrong for a couple of weeks, sweating, tired, excess saliva, itchy skin, feelings of apprehension, he has been back to the Dr and blood pressure was down slightly which is good, she recommended a cat scan, and he is going for a diabetes test tomorrow, as he feels better once eaten, is he working up to a stroke ?, seems odd that he gets these symptoms every day,

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pins and needles sensation can be due to diabetes or deficiency of B group of vitamins.

As he is already getting tested for diabetes, it's better to be careful. Because the chance of stroke is more in the people suffering from both hypertension and diabetes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
