Hi my 8 year old daughter sometimes has a pink fluid discharge that comes out her right ear only. We already seen a doctor about 2months ago for ear infections received medications but once in awhile her ear will start to drain this pink fluid. No pain and it stops right away just curious as to what this could be and why it still happens two months later.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have pink fluid discharge from right ear which is probably fungal infection in her ear with super added bacterial infection. Need not to panic about it. You should clean the ear with q-tip gently and put antibiotic ear drops. You should go for combination of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine course for 3-5 days. Avoid going water into ears while taking shower. You should maintain cleanliness in that area. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination and go for lab tests such as CT scan done. You can go for otoscopy as well and get drainage of fluids done. Avoid pricking it with any sharp object.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
