What Causes Persistent Vaginal Discomfort After Using Tampon?

I cannot remember taking out a tampon on Thursday afternoon. I am almost 100% sure I took it out but can t actually remember doing it. I checked to see if it is still in and do not feel it. It is safe to assume I removed it. I feel fine but don t have peace of mind

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A digital examination of the vagina will determine whether you have removed tampon or not.
If the tampon remains in the vagina for more than 24 hours, it causes discharge which is usually foul smelling and even septic shock.
If the tampon had been retained in the vagina, it would have cause discharge and features of sepsis like fever and abdominal discomfort.
Absence of these features rule out the possibility of retained tampon.

Thanks and take care
