What Causes Persistent Sour Taste On The Tongue?

I have a persistent sour taste in my mouth. It seems to be the sides of my tongue that detect it and maybe the inside of my cheeks seem a little irritated -or I perceive the taste there. No redness or swelling, no associated breath odor. Teeth and gums are perfect. Had a dentist remove an old gold crown and replace with porcelain this week but no better. Had it sightly worsening for eight weeks.
