What Causes Persistent Sharp Pain And Muscle Spasms In Right Arm?
Over the past 2 months I have had a sharp pain (like electrical shock) in my right arm and spasms in the arm for about 30 seconds, while in bed (once).I have had mild chest pains three times. Two nights ago I had a sharp pain in the side of my head near the temple. Are these pains a part of the aging process or is it something I should have checked out. I lift weights in a gym 2 days a week, run 2 miles / 2 days a week, and do yoga twice a week with no problems

As per your query you have persistent sharp pain and muscle spasms in right arm . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like brachial plexus injury , bursitis , carpal tunnel syndrome , heart attack , rotator cuff injury , tendinitis and tennis elbow . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper evaluation. Doctor may ask you to do certain movements , order CT scan and blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with supplement and recommend particular exercises . For now do light stretching exercises . take ibuprofen for pain and apply warm compresses . Also avoid heavy gym exercises , because pain occur due to trigger points of muscles liek trapezius muscle . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist .
