What Causes Persistent Pain In Shoulder And Neck?

I have neck and shoulder pain that has lingered for several weeks. Heat or cold compresses help but do not give complete relief. pain medicine helps but does not cure the problem, Aspirin seems more effective than other relievers, I do not know what caused this and I have never had pain linger as long as this.??

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I have studied your case and I think that you are having cervical spondyitis. In this condition there is nerve compression in the back. This is more common in person who works for long time in front of laptop and computers.
I would suggest you following.
1.Meet a physio and start neck muscle strengthening exercises.
2.Tablet Pregabalin M one daily.
3.Tablet Myospaz twice daily.
4.Volitran ointment local application
I hope these steps will help you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
