Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
mouth gum infection 2 months now. I am going to emergency tomorrow. Health care system just passes me from one Dentist or Doctor to the next. Frustrating! Infection is progressing and should have taken care of much sooner. What do you do when they send you back and forth and do not take your care seriously.
Infection in gums is commonly due to poor oral hygiene and if you have any associated medical problem like Diabetes or any history of medication that can have side effects on gums it can also cause progressive gum infection..
So the best person you can reach to get examined and treated for gum related infections is Periodontist who is a specialist in gum related infections..
First of all a full mouth x ray that is a Panoromic x ray should be done followed by deep scaling and currettage and a course of antibiotics like Metronidazole, gum paint application and daily intake of Vitamin C lozenge..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
