What Causes Persistent Heartburn?

i was taking aldronic acid for about eight months and suffered terrible heartburn. Recent bone density scan showed a vast improvement but they have recommended i come off the acid. i have been off it for 4 weeks and still suffer with heart burn. How long does it take to leave the system

Hi dear,
actually aldronic acid can cause oesophagitis and gastritis especially if was not taking probably, as it should be taking on an empty stomach and be in upright position for another 30mintus fallowing taking the tablet, and the reason why is just not for the tablet to get in close contact with your esophagus.
I recommend you to take (omeprazole 20mg once daily at night time for 2 weeks) this is an anti-acid tablet that will help you to much extent.
also try to drink milk and yougart.
your heartburn will not go if being not treated .hopfully you will find this answer helpful.
