What Causes Persistent Fever?

good morning dr , my son ten yrs old having fever last 2 months , i change three ped. doctor all dr prescribed tab oflox 200 mg bd ,tab pcm 250 mg tds ,all test are normal like - chest x-ray ,moutoux for tb, hb,tlc dlc ,urine re/me, but continous fever 99-100 f ,what is uy sugession now

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son has persistent fever which is due to viral infection and it could be due to urinary tract infection which is leading to such high fever. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician first once and get it examined and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Give full rest to your child with sound sleep. Drink lukewarm water throughout the day as it can provide relief. You can give Meftal P to child for fever. Give soft foods to child to avoid irritation and plenty of fluids to child. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Get blood test done again to detect level of infection. if symptoms keeps on persisting. Avoid taking outside food.
