What Causes Persistent Fever With Vomiting In Children?

My son has been running a fever with vomit for at least 3 weeks. I have took him to a local E R, to be informed it it viral. I took him on Thursday evening. I was told to alternate motrion and Tylenol every 4 hours. I have done this but no relief. Is their something else I could do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
As this problem is since last 3 weeks, it can not be viral and requires evaluation of his case.
He might require investigations like,
1, x-ray chest,
2, complete blood checking like TC, Dc, ESR, platelet count, S. Widal, Montoux test
3, routine urine check up.
Consult your doctor and discuss about these investigations.
After all reports diagnosis will be made and plan of treatment will be decided accordingly.
Mean while give him light diet and plenty of water with some B.complex medicine.
Ok and take care.
